Adopted

Yes, that is Pauly Shore on the cover of this movie, and yes he actually directed and stars in his newest “mockumentary”, Adopted.  This film has erupted so many emotions and controversies and has everyone’s panties pretty much in a wad.  But how could you hate this curly haired movie star from the 90′s?  His completely inappropriate and brazen humor is so ridiculously absurd that you just have to laugh.

Pauly Shore is on a mission to become father of the year, and yes, adopt a child from Africa.  Following the steps of his fellow stars,  Madonna and Angelina, Shore travels to Africa adopt a child, whether it be taking one off the streets or through an agency.  He meets with adoption agency counselors and is actually given three children (on three separate days) to “test drive” to determine which one will be his chosen son or daughter.

Shore‘s comedy goes beyond breaking all politically correct rules…and I think that’s what makes his comedy too edgy.  All in all, Adopted will either have you laughing hysterically or leave a sour taste in your mouth.  Depending on your taste, you will either love or hate this spoofy movie.  Most criticize Shore for being racist and condescending, when really he is likely getting a laugh out of it.  However, in his defense, there is a small excerpt at the end of the film that provides information on the seriousness of adoption and ways to adopt.  Adopted has its moments where I thought “Did he really just do that?”….and after I thought about it, I laughed at the absolute insanity of it.  At the end of the day Pauly Shore is a genius comedian who will go to any lengths for a laugh and will continue to spark controversy.  I love the way he challenges and pushes the envelope, and he definitely did not let audiences down with Adopted.
