All About Steve

Posted in Reviews by - December 29, 2009

The number one reason that I wanted to see this movie is because my fiance’s name is Steve, and I thought it would be funny, but I was highly disappointed.

Sandra Bullock stars as Mary Horowitz, a crossword puzzler who spends all of her time making crossword puzzles for her local newspaper.  She never has any time for friends or dating, but agrees to go on a blind date with Steve (Bradley Cooper).  She instantly falls in love with him from the moment she lays eyes on him, and Steve becomes freaked out.  He takes a phone call, tells her he has to leave, and wishes she could come with.  Mary takes that personally, and makes a crossword puzzle titled ‘All About Steve’.  She gets fired from her job and feels destined to be with Steve, following wherever he goes.

I was very disappointed in the acting done by Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper.  I find them both hilarious and love their movies, except this one.  The movie started out well, and I thought I would get quite a few laughs out of it, but I was wrong.  I thought the ending was bland, and the movie was pretty much pointless.  The whole movie just shows how obsessed Mary is with Steve and stalks him.  It is actually kind of creepy.  I would not recommend this movie, and since I already watched it for you, you don’t even have to bother.

I am a kindergarten teacher and everyday is something new and exciting. I am also a cheerleading coach at Benet Academy. I have a dog named Paisley and a husband named Steve. I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country. My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedies, which are the ideal chick flicks!

  • ouch. I turned the other way when i heard this movie was coming out. It just looked like a trainwreck to me. Cooper has been on suuch a winnign streak lately and then he had this career hiccup where it sorta crashed into a brick wall.
I actually wasn’t surprised to see Bullock in this since this seems to be more her thing, but Cooper usually does smarter comedies than this. smh

  • This is the kind of movie that gives chick flicks a bad name. Desperate women chasing men across country. I am surprised that Sandra Bullock would appear in this kind of movie.

Hi! I love this movie so I’m always very frustrated that others don’t even like it. Okay, sure she was blonder in “The Blind Side”, so her hair was sexier pretty. Besides having been partly set in Oklahoma City if not actually filmed there, Mary Horowitz, of the two blondes that I’ve seen S.A.B. play, for I’ve not seen “Crash”, was it? Well, Mary’s personality is the one I prefer the most, albeit the footballer in “The Blind Side” is a pistol packing mama. Why? Because I’d know she wants me if she wanted me without any doubts, unlike in real life where it always seems to be a game about me trying to read their minds to see what I should know all ready, at least according to them. Or put another way, Mary makes the first move which is something I approve of. People call Mary a “stalker” for following the guy around, while I see him as an idiot for not keeping her. Just like the guy in “Hope Floats” who left her character for the other woman, who despite being a blonde, I still found the brunette S.A.B,. to be more attractive. Or like in Real Life, Jesse James preferred that tattooed woman over S.A.B. and placed his first wife, Jeannine, another favorite of mine, in prison! I don’t have a list of S.A.B. characters in the order that I love them, but Mary would be up there Whew! That’s all for now.
