Do you have to enjoy reading Ayn Rand to like this movie? Apparently so. I don’t hate her work, but I’ve never been a big fan, either. After watching this movie, though, I’m beginning to think you can’t have a half way opinion about it.
This is honestly probably the most boring movie I’ve seen in my life. Since movies are never anything like the book anyway, you might think that bringing an overly long, overly boring book to the screen might give some room to make it at least a bit interesting or entertaining. Not so.
The absolute worst thing about this movie? The title is not actually Atlas Shrugged. It’s Atlas Shrugged Part 1. It’s supposed to eventually be a trilogy. Oh, my. I would rather sit down and read Rand’s 1000+ page book the movies are based on than even see one of them. Going blind reading it would be ever so much less painful than the damage I would incur watching them.
