If you need to see a good chick flick, with a lot of laughs, this is the movie for you!
Bride Wars is about two best friends that accidently get their weddings booked on the same day. Â Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway) have been best friends all of their life and their dream is to get married at The Plaza Hotel in June. Â Both girls are in serious relationships, and Liv finds a Tiffany’s box in the closet and realizes that she is going to be proposed to soon. Â However, Emma actually gets proposed to first, leaving Liv very jealous. Â She goes to her boyfriend Daniel’s (Steve Howey)Â office, and basically attacks him for a proposal, which she receives. Â Both girls are ecstatic and schedule their visit to see Marion St. Clare (Candice Bergen), the wedding planner for The Plaza. Â Marion tells them that their are 3 dates open for the plaza, two of which on the same day. Â They both pick different dates, and they both start happily planning each other’s weddings as maid of honor, only too find out that there was a mix-up where their weddings were booked on the same day. Â This is where the humor begins!
Neither Liv or Emma are going to back out of their wedding date at The Plaza since it is their dream and they both have their reasons for not pulling out. Â The girls stop speaking to each other and the prank war of the wedding planning starts. Â Emma keeps sending Liv fattening foods so she does not fit into her Vera Wang dress (and you can NOT alter a Vera Wang!) Liv has made Emma’s tan a frightening color orange, and the pranks just keep on going. Â During this time, Emma is starting to second guess who she is and why she is marrying her fiance Fletcher (Chris Pratt). Â On the day of the wedding, they see each other and apologize for everything that has happened, until one crazy prank left ruins the best day of both of their lives!

I give Bride Wars 4 stars. Â I saw it in the theater with my best friends and laughed through pretty much the whole movie. Â I absolutely love Kate Hudson as she is one of my favorite actresses. Â I also bought the movie when it came out on dvd and have watched it a couple of times since last winter. Â I highly recommend women to watch this with your gal pals! It is very humorous, and it is crazy how many things can happen to you when you are planning a wedding with an enemy!

I watched this on my best friend’s wedding night with all of her bridesmaids! Good memories…great movie!
