Charlie St. Cloud

Charlie (Zac Efron) and Sam (Charlie Tahan) are not only brothers, but they are best friends.  They sail and play baseball together, but Charlie is off to Stanford on a sailing scholarship.  Charlie promises Sam that every day at sunset cannons he will play ball with him until he leaves for college.  That evening, Charlie tries to sneak out while on Sam duty to go to a graduation party, but Sam catches him, and they go together.  On the way there, a horrific car accident happens.  Sam does not make it, but Charlie receives a second chance to live.  The day of the funeral, Charlie runs into the woods and sees Sam there, making a promise to play catch everyday at sunset cannons.Five years later, we see Sam working as the graveyard keeper, and keeping his promise to see Sam everyday.  The whole town thinks that Charlie is crazy, but he continues the same pattern everyday.  Charlie has not sailed since the accident, but is intrigued by Tess Carroll (Amanda Crew) and studies her boat.  He runs into her right before she leaves for a test run before she sails the world.  A couple days later, he finds Tess in the graveyard by her father’s tomb injured.  He cleans her up and the two start to talk and spend a lot of time together, almost so much that Charlie almost misses seeing Sam.  Charlie’s head is playing so many tricks on him, his heart does not know where to turn.

I do not want to give away the movie, so I will say no more.  You need to watch to see what happens.  I really did not know what the film was about before I watched it, but I think most people can predict what happens.  I rated this film a 3.  I am glad I didn’t pay to see it in the theaters, but it was good to watch on a snowy cold evening!  Ladies, leaves this film for a night in to yourself or with some of your girlfriends.  Most men would probably fall asleep from this drama film.

I am a kindergarten teacher and everyday is something new and exciting. I am also a cheerleading coach at Benet Academy. I have a dog named Paisley and a husband named Steve. I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country. My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedies, which are the ideal chick flicks!
