Diary of a Mad Black Woman

The Diary of a Mad Black woman is a Tyler Perry 2005 release directed by Darren Grant. This movie is a romantic comedy that tells a tale of vengeance, strength and Love. Kimberly Elise plays the role of Helen, a woman who must regain her strength after years of being tied to a cold marriage that she had learned to accept as normal.

Helen finds a way to heal in large part through her grandmother Madea, who provides an avenue of laughter and just a little insanity. Just as Helen is discovering a strength inside of her that was invisible and beginning to flirt with the idea of falling in love there is a strange turn of events. Helen’s Husband, Charles who was in large part responsible for years of pain was shot in court by his client.

The injury that Charles had sustained left him at the mercy of Helen. Temporarily Helen took her revenge on Charles, though she quickly discovered that by doing so she was becoming a person she couldn’t live with. It became clear to Helen that she would have to make a few changes if she was to keep everything she had found in her life since the tragic end to her marriage.

The Diary of a Mad Black Women is so far the best Tyler Perry film, at least in my opinion. This movie has been filmed with a talented cast who are known for great acting and great comedy. This movie should certainly be considered a must see romantic comedy.

I live in down town Duluth MN and am happily married, I also have two cats that are as much a part of my life as the actual people in my life. I enjoy spending my time doing anything that raises my fun meter. I especially like music and movies, though I also enjoy the luxury of curling up and spend my time lost in a good book. I absolutely love exploring new things, my latest of which is learning the art of roasting my own coffee. Of course this latest hobby has severely increased my coffee intake, yet I wouldn't really say that's a bad thing.
