I’m sad to report that if you saw any previews for Due Date, you witnessed the funniest moments of the film and won’t have much else to laugh at if you see the movie in its entirety. Don’t get me wrong, the movie had it’s major laughs, however, the story fell short and lost its height when it previewed the only scenes of the movie worth watching.
Robert Downey Jr. plays Peter, a high-strung architect who is a father-to-be in a few short days. Peter mixes up with Ethan (Zach Galifianakis) at the airport and the two end up on a road trip to disaster. Peter finds himself racing against the clock to be there on time when his wife delivers their baby. With his new “friend” Ethan, Peter will go to any means possible to get to the birth of his first child.
I would describe this film as a blend between The Hangover and Tommy Boy. These films are given impossible and crazy circumstances to get to the winning end result. Due Date is no different. The movie will not be noted for its ingenious plot, rather, the comedic flair that Galifianakis and Downey create on screen. As previously mentioned, I found myself laughing, however, laughing at shots of the movie I have already seen. I believe the previews gave away the highest comedy points in the film, which made for a disappointment when seeing the movie. Due Date would be worth a rental, but in my book, if you’ve seen one…you’ve seen them all.

yeah the previews gave awaythe biggst laughs, and thse lauhs weren’t even that big
This is unfortunately true. I had high hopes for this film, however, it was a slight let-down.
