Based on the true life story and novel, Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) is very unhappy with her life. Â She is in a loveless marriage, and does not know how to make her life happy. Â She decides to get a divorce, and then travels the world for one full year. Â She decides to go soul searching, and she eats her way through Italy, prays her way through India, and tries to love herself and her life in Bali. Â Along this journey, she meets many new friends that help her become one with herself and just be happy. Â Liz is also trying to keep her life balanced, and these friends make it easier for her to do so.
I bought the novel to read, but watched the movie before opening up the book and I was highly disappointed. Â It was a very long movie, of the very long journey of a woman who is confused on what to do with her life. Â I found the film very dull and boring. Â Julia Roberts is one of my favorite actresses, but I just could not get into this film. Â I also thought the ending of very uneventful and predictable. Â I would skip this film in the Netflix queue!

i actually really liked the movie, and HATED the book (couldn’t even get through it).
That is interesting… would you like to tell more about what you liked about it?
