Extract

I would say definitely worth a movie night with the significant other!

Extract we all know is a flavoring that we add to baked goods, and this movie revolves around Reynold’s Extract company and its employees.  Joel (Jason Bateman) is the owner and founder of Reynold’s Extract and is very close with his employees.  A freak accident occurs where one of the employees, Step (Clifton Collins Jr.) loses one of his testicles.  This incident is revealed in the newspaper, which leads criminal drifter Cindy (Mila Kunis) to the extract company for some work.  She fools everyone into thinking that she is sweet and innocent, when she is really just making Step sue the company so she can take the million dollar settlement and run.  Joel, having marital problems, becomes attracted to Cindy and makes some very bad choices to heal his love life through his friend Dean (Ben Affleck).  This involves a male gigolo, some drugs, and a black eye.  Meanwhile, Joel is also trying to get through the law suit so he can sell the company to General Mills, and the employees start to catch on, leading him to more stress than he can handle.  The movie also stars Kristen Wiig, J.K. Simmons, Dustin Milligan, and David Koechner (all very familiar faces!)

Extract has a lot of good one liners and sexual humor.  There were a lot of everyday life problems that people may face, such as a nosy and annoying neighbor and the typical bad day at work, that just really make you sit back and laugh.  I watched the movie with my fiance and he thought that it was funny as well.  The movie does lack an actual plot, and the ending was very dull.  I enjoyed watching the film with my fiance as we seemed to laugh at most of the same parts.  I feel that it is worth a watch for you to hear all of the humor, but you may be disappointed with the overall film in itself.

I am a kindergarten teacher and everyday is something new and exciting. I am also a cheerleading coach at Benet Academy. I have a dog named Paisley and a husband named Steve. I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country. My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedies, which are the ideal chick flicks!
