Funny Men Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen hilarious in the same film? Â I think not.
Comedian George Simmons (Adam Sandler) finds out that his health is in danger, and starts looking for new opening acts and some comedians that may be able to take his spot once he passes away. Â He finds Ira Wright (Seth Rogen) to be his opening act, and then takes him under his wing as his personal assistant. Â Ira not only writes jokes for George, but he takes him to all of his doctor appointments and waits on him hand and foot. Â George contacts everyone that ever meant anything to him in his life to let him know of his illness and to see them one last time, which includes the love of his life, Laura (Leslie Mann). Â She agrees to see him one last time, and they go there separate ways. Â At one of his doctor appointments, he finds out that he is one of the few people who will survive. Â His body has fought off the infection, and George will go on living his normal life. Â They celebrate with a night out, but George realizes that he still needs to tell Laura that he is going to be alive. Â Ira drives George to see her and her family, where the old flames reunite and trouble starts. Â Jonah Hill also stars in the film as Ira’s roommate, and there were many cameos, such as Eminem, James Taylor, Norm McDonald, and many, many others.
Funny People was not funny at all. Â There was a lot of foul language and sexual references, and I was just not amused. Â I find Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen hilarious, but seeing them in this movie was not at all humorous. Â I watched the film with my brother, who is also a big fan, and was equally disappointed. Â The movie was very sad for a while and dragged on and on, and when George got better again, the movie just kept going. Â I felt that it was never going to end. Â There was no real plot and it was just disappointing. Â I mean, of course there are good one liners, but nothing hilarious where we laughed for hours. Â I suggest you save the rental money on this one and watch an Adam Sandler classic, such as Billy Madison instead.

i’m not sure if this was a chick flick, but i really liked this film. i liked tht tjudd apatow took a risk and i think it paid off. it showed that he could be a good witer, and not just a silly one (though i love knocked up!).
Not a big Adam Sandler fan. I think he can only “act” one way and that one way isn’t funny, Too bad about this one though, it sounds like he was trying to go a different route? Will be sure not to spend time on this one.
even after this review, i still want to see it, but maybe not with as high of hopes
I still kind of want to see this movie. Perhaps Kyle and I can become friends again and watch this together?????
i’m an adam sandler fan, but true, not that good. got disappointed too.
