Hall Pass

Owen Wilson stars as Rick, a great husband and father of three children.  His life seems to be perfect, but his wife Maggie (Jenna Fischer) feels that he thinks too much about sex and checks out other women in front of her all the time.  She just does not feel he wants her anymore.  Rick’s best friend Fred (Jason Sudeikis) acts the same as Rick and they end up getting caught talking about sex, other women, and other couples.  Maggie decides to give Rick a hall pass; he has one week to do what he wants and get it out of his system with no consequences.  She leaves for her parents lake house, and Rick has the whole week to himself.  Fred, after being caught doing something he should not have been, has also been given a hall pass and his wife Grace (Christina Applegate) leaves with Maggie.  The men are in heaven!

The twist to this comedy starts when the men realize they have no luck picking up chicks and encounter many hilarious obstacles on the way.  The girls, on the other hand, are having a great time flirting and hanging out with a new crowd.  The hijinks continue and and overtime many tests will be given.  The girls worry about what the men are doing, and the men start to realize they don’t want a hall pass.

I watched this film with my husband because he really wanted to see it.  It was a little too crude for my liking in the beginning, but then I started to like the film and it turned out to be okay.  It is a film for both men and women.  It starts out as more of a guys movie, but then turns into more of a romantic comedy at the end. I thought that Jason Sudeikis was a lot better of an actor and made the movie more hilarious.  If you like Old School and Wedding Crashers, you will enjoy this type of film!

I am a kindergarten teacher and everyday is something new and exciting. I am also a cheerleading coach at Benet Academy. I have a dog named Paisley and a husband named Steve. I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country. My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedies, which are the ideal chick flicks!

I think this movie is an insult to the people who fight so hard to be faithful to their spouse everyday when they are tempted so often. Putting that aside, I think it was funny when it wasn’t being degrading or filthy. I like when Paige fools Rick into thinking she is sincere only to get him to buy her beer.
