When picking my review for the week, I chose to pick a movie from a couple years ago that is definitley a chick flick that every woman should see.
In the Land of Women is mostly about the lives of three women from three different generations.  Lucy Hardwicke (Kristen Stewart) is the teenager with problems of a typical high school teen, Sarah Hardwicke (Meg Ryan) is going through a rough marriage and battling cancer, and Phyllis (Olympia Dukakis) is an elderly woman who thinks she is over a hundred years old and is a hypochondriac.  Carter Webb (Adam Brody) is the grandson of Phyllis and goes to spend some time with her after being dumped by his girlfriend, thinking the new scenery will do him good so he can work on his book.  While helping out his grandmother, he meets her neighbors, The Hardwickes, and Carter  gets drawn to all the problems of these women.  He helps out each one in a different way to get them through their difficult crises.
I was drawn to this movie when it first came out because I am head over heels for Adam Brody. Â I think he is not only gorgeous, but he is very comedic and sarcastic. Â He plays a similar sarcastic role as he does as Seth Cohen in The OC, but he is a lot more handy around the house and he listens whole heartedly to these women. Â I was also introduced to Kristen Stewart in this film, and I thought that she was wonderful and I was very excited to see her star in the Twilight saga.
Overall, the movie was not as good as I thought it was going to be, but I really liked seeing that all women have issues when it comes to love and life; it just comes at a different times. Â I feel that every woman should see this film once and it is a great movie to watch by yourself or with some of your girlfriends. Â And who does not love Adam Brody!!!!
