Love And Other Drugs

It’s hard to make a sexy comedy where one of the main characters has Parkinson’s but that’s what this is.

The film was really fun. It made me want to read Jamie Reidy’s book it’s based on, Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman.

The movie follows a couple as they go from being a one night stand to friends with benefits to a committed relationship. Along the way, both are kicking and screaming as neither thinks that’s what they want.

It doesn’t help that half the duo is a drug rep for a pharmaceutical company while the other half is dealing with a difficult illness. Up til then, he’s only seen medicine as a way to make more money. (Sex, too, actually.) When he finally realizes the seriousness of his girlfriend’s illness, his transformation is long overdue, to put it mildly.

Watching the various shenanigans he goes through trying to sell his drugs to various doctors is really one probably the best part of the movie. I would definitely watch this again.
