This movie will definitely be added to my favorite list of romantic comedies. What started as an obsessive infatuation turned into indescribable attraction.
Sue Claussen (Jennifer Aniston) checks into an off the wall motel in Arizona which is owned by Mike Cranshaw’s (Steve Zahn) parents while on a business trip. There was an instant attraction for Mike; however, Sue thought that he was a bit outlandish. The first bizarre and rather short encounter was when Mike showed up to her room with a very dusty bottle of wine…. And, on her second night of stay, Mike showed up with champagne, and this is where he had the pleasure in touching her butt. The next day, she checks out of the motel and she spots Mike going in the Laundry room. She follows him and they share an explosive moment on the dryer. Sue returns to Baltimore where she resides, and is surprised one day at work with Mike’s visit at her place of work, after booking a one-way ticket. This is where I thought that he embedded stalker qualities and developed an obsession for someone that was a bit out of his league. Sue seemed like one of many women who have their whole life planned and has to hit certain milestones at a certain point of her life; whereas, Mike is not as independent and tends to live day by day. Mike constantly wants to be a part of Sue’s life, and then she breaks it to him that “they†will never work out.
Time passes by and Sue returns to Arizona for business. They pick up where they had left off and are approved by Mike’s parents after officially being introduced. They both learn a lot more about each other and this is where she leaves again to go back to Baltimore. Mike then learns that she moves in with her ex-boyfriend, Jango, (Woody Harrelson) who is a high-strung ex-punk. Mike then travels to Washington State and attempts to win Sue over. There are definitely lots of humorous scenes to share amusement with that special someone. A heartbreaking argument between Mike and Sue takes place where he confronts her and tells her that he sees the inner beauty that she possesses that is trapped by her reluctances that she displays. The deep emotion is definitely felt while watching this scene.
The end is definitely my favorite. The more mature Mike offers the most rewarding proposition Sue can ever imagine….which I will not reveal…you will have to watch the movie to see for yourself!

…explosive moment on the dryer….love that!
Ha! Ha!
