John Travolta and Robin Williams star in Old Dogs, a comedy about two businessmen and long-time best friends Charlie (Travolta) and Dan (Williams). Â Just before they’re about to strike a huge deal with another company, Dan’s ex-girlfriend shows up unexpectedly with some bad news… she’s being sent to jail, and she needs someone to watch her kids for two weeks while she’s in the slammer. Â Her friend has backed out on her, so Dan steps up and decides that he and Charlie can handle the kids. Â It’s only a couple of weeks, right? Â Right??? Â Right… Â During those two weeks, the youngsters bring a load of chaos, confusion, and mix-ups to the lives of these two high-level, used-to-only-caring-about-themselves executives.
So what did I think of this movie? Â Hmmm… well, let’s put aside the fact that I missed the beginning because I was texting a friend who was coming late. Â Let’s forget that we sat in the front row, the VERY FRONT row, which distorts the entire movie screen and everything on it. Â Let’s not take into account the neck cramps, or the people who kept asking us to move our stuff even after I’d told them those seats were occupied. Â No, actually we should keep all of that in mind and here’s why: Â because even on top of all of that, even though it was the worst theater experience I’ve ever had, I walked out of that theater with a warm heart and a smile on my face. Â
Old Dogs is the first movie in a long time to make me laugh so hard my stomach hurt. Â I can’t remember the last time that happened! Â This movie is hilarious! Â It felt so good to not have to cover my eyes to avoid pointless nudity or plug my ears because of the ignorant language. Â Old Dogs is family-friendly with clean, good-natured humor and a great message about the importance of family.
The cast of Old Dogs is also fantastic.  Outside of Travolta and Williams, Seth Green plays a supporting role along with Lori Loughlin,  Kelly Preston, Bernie Mac (who’s apparently caught whatever TuPac has that allows him to cameo from the grave), and Matt Dillon. Wow.
If you like good, clean entertainment, Old Dogs is worth a look-see. Â You’ll go home happy. Â If you like incessant obscenities, nudity, crude humor, and raunchiness, consider this one a waste of your time. Â Let’s be honest – there are some movies that you just feel dumber for seeing, and there are some that you actually learn something from. Â This is one of the latter. Â And really, this close to Christmas, what could be better than spending time with your family learning something about family?

Wow really you liked it? The commercial looks cheesy and unfunny
Ehh…not sure about this one. I don’t think this will make my “must see” list. Nice review!
Loved it!! No, I wouldn’t consider it a must-see either. But it’s perfect if you’re looking for an innocent, light-hearted comedy =) I’d see it again.
