Rango

Rango is the story of an ordinary house pet with a large imagination. He finally gets to have the adventures he used to act out in his glass cage when he accidentally falls out of his owners vehicle. Rango is a little odd but very funny and charming- rather like Johnny Depp. He’s a pleasure to watch. Even animated.

This film immediately had me within the first few minutes. It was unique in style and hilarious. As the film progressed I got a little restless but ultimately it was a fun, rewarding movie.

A friend and I overheard a couple of parents complaining about some of the content in the film. Now, I don’t have children and I saw Terminator 2 in theaters before I was double-digits so children-friendly content isn’t my strong point.

But I have to admit that some of the imagery seemed a little much for young children.

I have to point out that the humor- that was fantastic as the film started- began to get a little tiresome by the credits.

So good, solid animated film with a few hiccups.

I'm a newly graduated college student with a deep love for film- in particular geeky films. While in college I worked for three years at a small town theater as the projectionist. It was the best job I ever had! It also encouraged me to dabble in film reviews. I started a small movie review blog (www.cinemathree.com) where I could talk about what I did and didn't like. I like to keep my film reviews fun and whimsical. I hope to someday pursue film studies further. In the meantime I continue to watch and comment!

  • I didn’t have much hope for this film. I associate Nickelodeon films with fart jokes and brainless humor. Glad to hear that that is not necessarily the case.
