Red Riding Hood

A well known fairy tale with a twisted thriller ending!

Everyone knows the story of Little Red Riding Hood, but this legend is different from the fairytale we all know and loved as a children.  Valerie (Amanda Seyfried) has fallen in love with Peter (Shiloah Fernandez), but her family disapproves.  Her sister is killed by the werewolf that haunts their village, and the men go out that evening to find it and kill it.  Before they leave Henry (Max Irons) proposes to Valerie and she accepts because of her family, but is deeply hurt that she can not be with Peter.  The werewolf is killed and the town celebrates, only to have Soloman (Gary Oldman) tell the village that they are wrong.  When a werewolf is killed, they return to their human form.  The town does not believe him and continues on with their celebration.  Late that night, the werewolf strikes again, and this time finds Valerie and speaks to her.  He tells her he knows everything about her and that if she does not want the town to be destroyed, she must come with him.  Valerie spends the next day trying to find out who this werewolf might be, and when Soloman finds out, he makes Valerie sacrifice herself to the wolf.

This fairytale was very well written and I was fooled all the way to the end!  It is definitely a movie that makes you think about who the werewolf is and wondering who will survive in the village.  I usually do not like thrillers, but I really liked this movie and the story behind it.  I liked that it took place in the medieval times and that well known fairy tales can always be retold even better.  I hope you take the time to watch it and enjoy it like I did!

I am a kindergarten teacher and everyday is something new and exciting. I am also a cheerleading coach at Benet Academy. I have a dog named Paisley and a husband named Steve. I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country. My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedies, which are the ideal chick flicks!
