Runaway Bride

One of my favorite chick flicks of all time!!!!!

Maggie Carpenter (Julia Roberts) just can’t seem to walk down the aisle and commit to marriage.  She has been engaged 3 times and has left the groom hanging at the alter alone.  Now she will be trying for her 4th marriage to Bob Kelly (Christopher Meloni) when a reporter named Ike Graham (Richard Gere) writes an insulting article about Maggie, with no facts at all.  He gets fired and heads to Maryland to get the real story on Maggie.  They start spending time together so he can get to know her, and they realize how much they are falling for each other.

It comes time for the rehearsal and Bob pretends to be the priest, while Ike stands in as him. He kisses Maggie in front of Bob, and he calls off the wedding.  Since a wedding was going to take place, Maggie and Ike decide to get married instead.  We see the nervous side of Maggie come out the day of the wedding, and she makes it all the way down the aisle, and something hits her.  She realizes she is not ready for this, and takes off again.  Ike runs after her, but it is no use; Maggie has gone again.

Runaway Bride is one of my favorite movies because it a typical cheesy romantic comedy and I just love Julia Roberts.  She is one of my favorite actresses!  I just think this film is so cute and I remember watching it for the first time when I was in high school and I bought it on VHS and have worn out my tape from watching it so many times!  Roberts and Gere, of course, work so well together, and I feel that that is one of the reasons I like it so much.  So one night when you are bored and its on TV, why not pop some popcorn and watch this girly chick flick?

This past weekend Candice  got married! Congratulations! We wish you all the best, and hope you’re having a great time on your honeymoon!

I am a kindergarten teacher and everyday is something new and exciting. I am also a cheerleading coach at Benet Academy. I have a dog named Paisley and a husband named Steve. I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country. My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedies, which are the ideal chick flicks!
