A must see for all anyone who has a special bond with their BFFs!
Four girls who have known each other since birth are now ready to start growing up and start living their lives in separate directions. Â Tibby (Amber Tamblyn) is staying in town, working a part-time job and working on a film documentary. Â Lena (Alexis Bledel) is off to visit her grandparents in Greece for the summer. Â Carmen (America Ferrera) is going to South Carolina to spend some time with her father, and lastly, Bridget (Blake Lively) is off to Mexico for soccer camp. Â Each girl has a very different life and upbringing, but their bond in friendship is undeniable. Â On one of their last days together, they go shopping and find a pair of pants that seem to magically fit all four of them perfectly. Â They buy them, and decide to send them to each other all summer long.
Lena starts with them in Greece. Â When she puts them on, she almost drowns but is saved by a strapping young gentlemen named Kostas (Michael Rady). Â They fall for each other, but both find out that their families hate each other over a long time rivalry of the fish market. Â Lena sends the pants onto Tibby, which get delivered by a little girl named Bailey (Jenna Boyd) who asks Tibby is she can be her assistant for her film. Â Once she puts the pants on, she spends the day finding fascinating people to film, and sees the good in Bailey instead of finding her an annoying tween. Â Carmen receives them next, and her summer is not as planned at all. Â Her father is getting married to someone this summer who has a family, and Carmen has no idea who her father is at all. Â While wearing the pants, she has a fall out with her soon to be new family, and runs away for the afternoon, realizing she wants to be back at home and forget about her horrible summer. Â Last but not least, Bridget gets the pants, and wears them to attract a soccer coach at camp named Eric (Mike Vogel). Â All of the girls find out that they had many disappointments and surprises in the pants, and realize that they need each other more than ever.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a film based on the novel written by Ann Brashares. Â I read the novel and loved it. Â I watched the movie and loved it. Â It is a great film to watch with your best friends and renew that special bond between your group of gals. Â I went to the theater to see it with my best friends, and have watched the film many times. Â It is definitely a chick flick, and I think any teenage girl would enjoy it.
