Take Me Home Tonight

Topher Grace takes us back to the 80s where he stars as Matt Franklin, a very nerdy and smart college graduate who is working at SunCoast video while he figures out what he wants to do with his life.  While on the job, his high school crush, Tori Frederking (Teresa Palmer) walks in and he plays it off as he is a banker at a successful firm to impress her.  She asks him if he will be at Kyle Masterson’s (Chris Pratt) big labor day party, and he says he will see her there.  After work, he grabs his best friend Barry (Dan Fogler) and his twin sister Wendy (Anna Faris) and away they go, starting with stealing a car.  While Matt spends his night trying to get closer to Tori, Barry finds himself just getting into trouble and Wendy says yes to a proposal that she is not really sure of.  The whole night is full of obstacles and major ups and downs, and the comedy just never stops.

Take Me Home Tonight was a hysterical comedy and I enjoyed it very much.  It was actually one of the first films that my husband did not fall asleep!  I am not sure if was the comedy for the great 80s music that kept my attention throughout the whole film.   Anyone who enjoys a good comedy and a flashback to the 80s will really enjoy this movie.  Kick back with your significant other and have a good laugh together!

I am a kindergarten teacher and everyday is something new and exciting. I am also a cheerleading coach at Benet Academy. I have a dog named Paisley and a husband named Steve. I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country. My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedies, which are the ideal chick flicks!

  • so glad to hear this was good (especially because the trailer doesn’t lead me to believe that). i am expecting the dvd in the mail tomorrow.

  • Yeah I was skeptical about this one as well. It came and went pretty quick.

Not a lot of people enjoyed this movie that I know of. I personally never heard of the movie Take Me Home Tonight until my DISH co-worker was talking about. I’m not really big on movies like this that is why I have Blockbuster @Home. I’m not paying an arm or leg for the theater or Netflix. I pay a low amount each month and if I don’t like the movie that I’m watching I can switch from the movie to streaming on demands. So if I get Take Me Home Tonight I’m really glad that I have a back-up plan.
