Tommy (Scott Porter) works for Wall Street and is really good at taking and giving risks. Â One of their best guys leaves the company for a better job offer and he decides to take Daniel (Bryan Greenberg) under his wing. Â Tommy is also dating Beth (Alexis Bledel), who falls hard for Tommy and his romantic acts. Â They seem very happy together, but things take a turn when Tommy starts mentoring Daniel. Â Tommy and his crew are teaching Daniel how to dress, act and talk to others to make it on Wall Street, when Daniel just is too honest to be in this field. Â At a work event, Tommy brings Beth, and invites Daniel to come hang out at book club to try and set him up with one of her friends. Â Little do we know, that they are going to start falling for each other. Â One of the reasons they do, is due to Tommy not being around and spending less time with Beth. Â We learn how big of a player Tommy is and how he just loves living his life this way.
The Good Guy is very predictable, right from the start.  I really enjoy Alexis Bledel and it was nice to see  her in a different type of film, but I was just not interested in this movie.  If I didnt have to right a review on it, I would have turned it off.  Even after reading the Netflix description, I thought it was going to be something different and more romantic, but it just wasn’t.  I would not suggest this film to many people.

Did you feel like Alexis Bledel was worthy of a leading role? I haven’t seen her in anything where she stars, but based on the previews for her movies and her work on Gilmore Girls it seems like she might not suit it.
She almost seems a little too subdued, maybe? I did like her on GG though : )
That’s too bad that this wasn’t good. I really like Alexis Bledel and Bryan Greenberg.
