The Hangover Part II

This time around the gang gets together for Stu’s (Ed Helms) wedding in Thailand. In an attempt to prevent things from getting out of control like they did in Vegas, Stu skips out on having a bachelor party before they leave for Thailand and instead holds what he calls a “bachelor brunch.” As a secondary precaution, Alan (Zach Galifianakis) is purposely not invited to the wedding. However, Stu ultimately gets pressured into inviting Alan and Phil (Bradley Cooper) and Doug (Justin Bartha) basically warn Stu that he is not getting away with his lame brunch.

Fast forward to them arriving in Thailand and it soon becomes very obvious that Stu’s soon-to-be-father-in-law does not like him at all. After a very uncomfortable rehearsal dinner, everyone starts heading back to their rooms, but one of the guys suggest that they go grab a drink. At first, Stu just wants to go back to the room with his fiancee, but she convinces him to spend some time with his friends and to take her little brother, Teddy (Mason Lee) with him. Stu eventually agrees because he realizes it is the perfect opportunity to hang with his buddies one last time before the big day. Plus, bonding with Teddy could help him get into his future father-in-law’s good graces. So, they head to the beach, build a little fire, and drink a few beers (Phil grabbed bottled beers to ensure nobody tampered with them). What happens next is “classic!” Stu, Phil, and Alan wake up in some strange hotel room and have no idea where they are or how they got there. To make matters worse they can’t find Doug (not again) or Teddy!!

If you take this movie for exactly what it is, you will find it pretty darn funny. Is it better than the first one? Of course not. Some will probably even criticize this film for basically being the same as the first movie just in a different location. Ok, it’s true, but they do have a pretty good thing going, so why mess with it? I will say that you find out almost everything that happened a little too soon. They do show it to you in a pretty funny and clever way, so that kind of makes up for it. And like the first movie, you get a chance to see the pictures from their crazy night. In my opinion the new pictures are even funnier than the ones from the original film. Also, everyone did a great job reprising their roles. All in all it is worth checking out.

Oh,good! I don’t think I ever laughed so much at a move before as I did the first Hangover. I was afraid this one might not be as good but now I can’t wait to see it. Thanks CFR
