The Notebook

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I have decided to write about one of the most romantic films of my time The Notebook.

Based upon the novel written by Nicholas Sparks, the film opens up in a nursing home and focuses on a woman who looks lost in the world and searching for happiness.  A man named Duke (James Garner) comes in to read to her this love story where we learn about the characters Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) and Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams).   Their love blooms over the summer into an unforgettable romance.  Allie is just visiting for the summer in her parents mansion and Noah is  poor boy working at a lumberyard.  The are oblivious to what society thinks for their romance and finally Allie’s parents put it to an end.  Allie’s mother, Anne (Joan Allen) states that this is not how she raised her daughter and that the boy is trash.  Her family leaves town right away to go back home the next day to get Allie away from Noah.  This unexpected leave made Noah and Allie fall apart and force themselves to move on.  Noah wrote letters to Allie everyday, but never heard back from her.

As the years pass, we see two adults living their new lives, including Allie getting engaged to Lon Hammond Jr (James Marsden), and before her wedding she sees a picture of Noah in the paper and decides to go back to Seabrook Island to get some unanswered questions taken care of.  She finds Noah living in the old Windsor Plantation, which he promised he would fix up and live in one day.  She finds it exactly the way that she described she wanted to live in it.  Alot of fighting and yelling makes their old romances blooms again, and now Allie is forced to decide who really wants to be with.  Y0u will have to watch to see this love story unfold!

The Notebook is by far not only one of the best novels I have read, but one of my all time favorite love films.  Every woman should watch this movie at least one time in their life and make it a girls night while your at it because no guy is going to want to sit and watch it with you!  This is the first movie that made me cry while watching it.  I love the acting of Ryan Gosling and James Marsden, I mean who wouldnt want to see either of these handsome men! I also really enjoy watching Rachel McAdams character as she is just so full of life and fun.  There is so much love, romance and heartbreak that it is just a classic story.  I hope that you all enjoy it!

I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country.
