The Switch

Kassie (Jennifer Aniston) and Wally (Jason Bateman) are best friends.  They share everything about their life together, including that Kassie wants to have a baby.  Wally thinks she will be a good single mother, but he does not like the idea of her ‘shopping’ for donors.  Kassie has a party the night that she will become inseminated, and the donor Roland (Patrick Wilson) is there to do his part.  Wally gets very drunk and finds the sperm.  He starts playing with it and drops it in the sink, leaving him to put his own sperm in Roland’s cup.  The next day, Wally goes to work extremely hungover, having no recollection of anything that happened the night of the party.  Lucky for him, he went to his friend Leonard’s (Jeff Goldblum) home afterwards, so Wally knows that someone sort of knows what happened.  A couple weeks later, Kassie is pregnant, and tells Wally that she is moving to Minnesota to raise her baby.

Fast forwarding to seven years later, Kassie gets in touch with Wally to let him know that she is moving back to New York with her son, Sebastian (Thomas Robinson).  They all meet up for dinner, and that is when Wally starts to see the similarities of him and Sebastian.  He then puts all the pieces together and realizes what he did that evening.  Will he be able to tell Kassie?  Will he lose her and Sebastian if he does?

The Switch was okay.  It is your typical romantic comedy of the sexual chemistry between two friends that are meant to be together, but do not realize it until the end of the film.  I thought the storyline was okay, but very predictable.  I thought that Jason Bateman’s character was played well, and I liked watching the film from the guy’s perspective.  I do not see myself watching it again, but if you like other Jennifer Aniston films, you may want to pick this one up from the Redbox!

I am a kindergarten teacher and everyday is something new and exciting. I am also a cheerleading coach at Benet Academy. I have a dog named Paisley and a husband named Steve. I absolutely love shopping, beaches, and anything Disney. I also like to read a lot and listen to music, especially country. My favorite genre of movies is romantic comedies, which are the ideal chick flicks!

This is another one I really wanted to see. That’s too bad that it was only ok.
