What could be better than watching a spooky Halloween movie on Halloween?!  Trick ‘r Treat is the perfect film for this holiday and will make you scream, jump, and turn your head….all the things we love in a classic scary movie!

Director and writer, Michael Dougherty creates a thrilling film involving the intertwining of four stories that occur on Halloween.  A run of the mill principal unveils a secret obsession of serial killing; a young virgin is seeking someone special for the “first time;” a group of insensitive teenagers pull a prank that just might turn on them; and a man who loathes Halloween has his reasons for despising this frightening holiday.  The four creepy tales are creatively interwoven into a thrilling movie that will have your bones chilled in no time!

I also watched the extras on the Trick ‘r Treat Blu-Ray and had the opportunity to learn a lot about the actual Halloween holiday and its origins.  Mike Dougherty is a die-hard Halloween fan and has envisioned Sam, a main creepy character in the film, for most of his filming career. In Trick ‘r Treat, Dougherty had the opportunity to bring Sam to life.  Believe me, Sam is one of the creepiest characters I have ever seen in a film!  If you need a good campy scare tonight, watch Trick ‘r Treat and prepare yourself for a classic scare.  Happy Halloween!
