When two best friends Vicky(Rebecca Hall) and Cristina(Scarlett Johansson) travel to Barcelona for the summer something they never expected to happen, happens. They meet a well known local painter Juan Antonio(Javier Bardem) who is also known for the fact that is wife publicly stabbed him. He suggest the three of them take a weekend getaway to an island to have sexual intercourse. They refuse but then end up going because Cristina wants to, while Vicky, the practical one with a wall-street drone of a fiance, decides she should act as a chaperon. When Cristina becomes sick for the weekend Vicky is left alone with Juan and he draws her in to have intercourse with him. He nor she tells Cristina what had happened leaving Cristina and Juan to start a relationship!
Moral of the story is both girls fall in love with Juan Antonio despite their major differences they have in boy choice. Despite all this talk in the first half hour the movie is pretty boring. The movie comes alive when Juans ex-wife Maria Elena(Penelope Cruz) storms into the frame. If your having love problems and don’t know what to do or think this movie may be able to help you out or just make you think about things even more. <3
