Win One of Our Favorite Chick Flicks on DVD!

Chick Flick Reviews ContestWe had a good turnout on our first contest, so we’re having another.  Pretty simple, just leave a comment with your favorite chick flick scene and what movie it’s from.  The comments will close August 25, 2009 at midnight central time, and we’ll randomly select a winner and announce August 26, 2009. We have a pile of promotional DVDs and gifts to give away, so we’ll randomly select a DVD for the winner. Make sure to use a valid email address! Good luck!

EDIT: Congratulations to our winner, Sylvia Bengisoy! Stay tuned for more chick flick contests and reviews on the latest chick flicks!

My favorite scene ever is the ‘Thriller’ scene in 13 Going On 30! I used to DREAM of doing something like that when I was a little kid so I was so happy to see it on the big screen!

  2. Jennifer says

My favorite Chick Flick is Notting Hill…I especially like the part where Julia Roberts is standing in the bookstore and she says that she’s just a girl standing in front of a boy telling him that she loves him. Oooo…gives me goosebumps!

I love the midnight margaritas scene in Practical Magic!

  4. Margaret Smith says

My favorite is Pretty Woman. I love the ending, when he comes in his white limo (like riding on a white horse) carries the roses in his mouth and climbs up the fire escape…even though he’s afraid of heights. He says he came to rescue her and she in return says that she rescues him too. (can you tell that I’ve watch this movie a number of times? lol)
    Thanks so much.

I love the end of “Bride Wars” where she is talking about a friend being your soul mate. I ended up using that quote in a letter to my bridesmaids that I placed in their gifts for being in my wedding. I cried like a baby when I heard that part of the movie. It is soooo true!

I don’t know if this is allowed, but I really don’t think I have a favorite scene. I’m not even sure I have a favorite chick flick; I like a lot. Thanks for the contest!

    • Jake says

      @Anna,
Ok, how about a scene you really like? It doesn’t have to be your favorite =)

I have many chick flicks that I watch over and over. It is like I am watching the flick for the first time. I know it is like this for many of us. Practical Magic is one of those movies that I could watch a million times and never stop being enchanted by the scene between Sally and Gary. They have an instant connection. Sally tells Gary, “The reason you’re here and you don’t know why is because I sent for you.” She sent for a love that would never exist, a man with two different colored eyes. This connection is pure magical. I love that film!

  24. kerri r says

I like pretty in pink where the poor girl meets rich boy

  25. Jocelyn says

My favorite chick flick scene is from Bridget Jones’ Diary. The scene is between Bridget Jones and Marc Darcy. Bridget is upset by the smug marrieds making fun of her for being single and Marc catches her by the coat rack and he starts babbling nervously. Eventually he tells her “I like you…” At first she doesn’t believe him but then he says it again “I like you… just as you are.” I thought that scene was so adorable.

  26. Stephanie Malone says

Oh, this is a tough one! So many options. I’m going to have to go with Breakfast at Tiffany’s. OMG…that final scene in the rain…with the cat. Timeless! And I love Audrey Hepburn. Such an amazing movie.

“OK, life’s a fact. People do fall in love, people do belong to each other – because that’s the only chance anybody’s got for real happiness.”

    • Jake says

Why don’t you have your wife come on the site and comment? Simply stating “for my wife 50 first dates” isn’t exactly what the contest is asking you to do. Nor is it a complete sentence or proper English =)
